No matter what anyone says, the answer to this question will always be subjective. Who is the number one football team?
How would you answer this question? Would
you rate Manchester United as the best team of all time, or perhaps Real Madrid,
Bayern Munich, or some other top side? Every football fan in the world has
their own opinion on which club was the greatest ever to play the game, and it
can be hard to settle an argument once and for all – but here's our take on it
anyway.
Different ways to measure number one
What are some different ways of measuring
which is the best football team?
-Winning a championship: The New England
Patriots have won five Super Bowls and are thus considered the best in
their field.
-How many championships a team has: The
Dallas Cowboys have won five Super Bowls but lost twice in close games, so
they're not considered as good as the Patriots, who have not lost yet.
-Who has beaten more opponents: Going by that standard, it would seem like Green Bay Packers are better than both teams because they've beaten more opponents than combined. If you consider the winning percentage, the Cowboys come out on top with 45.2%, while the Pats only have 44.8%. But if you measure records against each other, then the Pats are clearly better with an 11-4 record against Dallas' 8-5 record against each other (excluding playoffs). It's also worth noting that no matter how you measure things, there will never be one correct answer to this question; there will always be exceptions to any rule. For example, people might argue that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the best team ever despite never winning a Super Bowl. Similarly, people could argue why certain teams should be number one over others based on factors such as home country or fan base size. Which is the No 1 football team? Well,, there's no way to definitively say without adding more words and time to this blog post. Maybe someday I'll get around to writing another blog post about what I think is the most accurate measurement of which team is the best, but until then, all I can tell you is that everyone will always have their own opinion.
Most championships
The Dallas Cowboys have won five Super
Bowls and eight Conference Championships for 13 total championships.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have six Super Bowls and 10 Conference Championships
for 16 total championships. The San Francisco 49ers have five Super Bowls and
five Conference Championships for 10 total championships. The New England
Patriots have four Super Bowls and nine Conference Championships for 13 total
championships. The Green Bay Packers have three NFL Championships and 12
Conference Championships for 15 total championships making them the No 1
football team by most championships as of 2018. They are also ranked second in
all-time win percentage (.690) and third in all-time winning percentage (.588).
There's also the Chicago Bears with nine NFL Championships (The most in
history) and seven Conference Championships for 16 total championships. As well
as being ranked first in all-time winning percentage (.702), first in all-time
win percentage (.614), first in postseason appearances (49), second in
postseason wins (27), second in conference championship games played (18),
third in conference championship victories (13) behind only the Pittsburgh
Steelers. With these statistics, it's hard to say that any other
football team deserves to be called No 1. However, we can't discount the
significance of championships achieved before the 1970 AFL–NFL merger, so let's
explore that next.
And finally, we have a list of teams who have never been champions: Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, and Detroit Lions. These teams may not be around long enough to win a championship, but maybe they will! For now, I'm sticking with my statement that no matter what anyone says, the answer to this question will always be subjective.
Most win
You'll never find a definitive answer to
who the No 1 football team is because it's all subjective. If you prefer
offense, then maybe you think New England Patriots are the best in terms of
points scored per game and yards gained per game, but if you want defense, then
maybe Seattle Seahawks are your No 1 choice with their fewest points allowed fewest yards allowed per game. Some people might not even care about stats and just go off of which teams they like or which players they have
heard of. It really comes down to preference! Do you need a running back
for success? Maybe Carolina Panthers star Jonathan Stewart is the answer for
you. Is Tom Brady your guy when it comes to passing accuracy? He's on the New
England Patriots, so maybe he could help make them No 1 for you.
Highest winning percentage
The No 1 football team has to have a high
winning percentage. The winning percentage will show how likely they
will win and if they are a good or bad team. Below are some teams who have been

Most popular team
Which is the No 1 football team? This
question will have a different answer depending on who you ask. But which of
these teams has the most titles out of all those in contention for the
title of the best? It may not be a surprise that Real Madrid has 16
European Cups/Champions League titles. After that, there are many other teams
with six or fewer titles,s, but none of them can boast as much success as Real
Madrid and their 16 titles. The runner-up is A.C Milan, with seven European
Cup/Champion League titles, just behind Barcelona (five) and
Bayern Munich (six). All these clubs above should make it into any
list of top ten contenders when answering Which is the No 1 football team?
However, if we look at more recent history, another contender could be Juventus, with five European Cups/Champion League titles since 2003. However, some people
would say this does not count because they were stripped of two of those
trophies due to their involvement in the Calciopoli scandal during the 2005-2006
season, where Juventus illegally fixed matches by bribing players and referees
from other teams, such as AC Milan.
Best players
It's a tough debate on who the best player in football is, but it's clear some players are undoubtedly better than others. Some say that Lionel Messi is far and away the best player in the world, while others will argue that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player to ever walk on a pitch. There are a lot of opinions out there on who deserves to be called No 1. Still, there's no argument about who has won more trophies than any other professional footballer in history: Diego Maradona scored 32 goals in World Cup tournaments and helped his country win two Copa Americas (1984) and their first-ever World Cup title (1986). He was awarded FIFA Player of the Century by FIFA itself. But does he deserve to be called the best player ever? For many people, the answer is yes. The reasons are largely subjective, which means it all boils down to opinion at the end of the day. When asked Which is the No 1 football team? Most would list clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Manchester United as contenders for being called number one. Others may also consider teams from less popular leagues, such as Benfica, Anderlecht, or Borussia Dortmund, worthy candidates for the title.
